NWS Holdings and Chow Tai Fook Enterprises Limited reached an agreement to form a 50/50 joint venture, Healthcare Assets Management Limited, to develop healthcare services with primary focus on clinical services in Mainland China and Hong Kong.

NWS Holdings’ wholly-owned subsidiary, Anway Limited, won a competitive bid to continue its duty free concessions at the MTR Hung Hum, Lo Wu and Lok Ma Chau Stations until 2022.

The Group reached an agreement with Chow Tai Fook Enterprises Limited to purchase the remaining 50% effective interest in Citybus Limited, New World First Bus Services Limited and New World First Ferry Services Limited, which have become wholly-owned subsidiaries of the Group following completion of the agreement on 30 December 2016.

NWS Holdings reached an agreement with its French partner SUEZ for the restructuring of their joint venture, Sino-French Holdings (Hong Kong) Limited ("SFH"), so as to expand its environmental businesses in Hong Kong, Mainland China, Macau and Taiwan. After completion of the agreement in December, NWS Holdings indirectly owns 42% interests in SFH.

NWS Holdings increased its stake in Goshawk Aviation Limited to 50% as part of its effort to expand commercial aircraft leasing business.

A wholly-owned subsidiary of NWS Holdings signed an agreement to dispose of its entire effective interest in NWS Kwai Chung Logistics Centre at an aggregate cash consideration of HK$3.75 billion.

The new ten-year franchise for Citybus Franchise 1 (Hong Kong Island and Cross-Harbour bus network) took effect on 1 June.

A sludge treatment and recycling plant of Sino French Water commenced operation, providing sludge treatment services for the 4.5 million households and industrial customers in Yangzhou, Mainland China for 30 years.

NWS Holdings formed a joint venture, Bauhinia Aviation Capital Limited, with Chow Tai Fook Enterprises Limited and Aviation Capital Group Corp. to engage in the business of purchasing, leasing and selling of commercial aircraft.

Mrs. Oei Fung Wai Chi, Grace was appointed as an independent non-executive director of NWS Holdings with effect from 1 January 2016.
