His bravery and professionalism will last forever. As for many other frontline medical staff, NWS Holdings salutes to their courage and dedication through the “Join Hands Show Care” campaign.
Under the “Join Hands Show Care” campaign, NWS Holdings is encouraging employees and their relatives to write Caring Cards to those health care workers at Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital. Over 130 of these cards have been gathered to date and sent to the hospital. One of them is from a nine-year-old child who expresses with colours her heartfelt wish that the infected medical staff could get well soon (photo 1). Many others carry touching messages (photo 2).
NWS Holdings has uploaded the Caring Card template onto its intranet as well as website. In a bid to motivate more people to further enhance the spirit of sharing, there is a weekly showcase of the most outstanding card.
Apart from the Caring Cards, employees of NWS Holdings are helping in the battle against SARS. From 11 to 26 April, more than 20 volunteers from NWS Volunteer Alliance, the group-wide volunteer team, joined the Hong Kong Red Cross to pack hygiene kits with facemasks, alcohol pads, sterilizing tablets as well as SARS prevention guidelines (photo 3) for 100,000 home-alone elderly in Hong Kong. All of them have the same faith as NWS Holdings that unity is the most powerful weapon to defeat SARS, and adversity will be over soon.
