(26 June 2006, Hong Kong) NWS Holdings Limited (“NWS Holdings” or the “Group”; Hong Kong stock code: 0659) won the Silver Award of Community Relations in the Seventh China Golden Awards for Excellence in Public Relations for Green Kindergarten Network, its environmental education project co-organized with Green Power. The prize presentation ceremony was held in Beijing on 24 June 2006 (photo 1).
Launched by NWS Holdings and Green Power in 2005, Green Kindergarten Network has created a resource platform to help local kindergartens to conduct environmental education. By offering free teaching aids, teachers’ training, outdoor visits, etc, the programme nurtures environmental awareness of the young generation. About 40% of local kindergartens have joined the network as members so far. The programme combines the strengths and expertise of the two organizers to fill the gap of inadequate resources on environmental education for kindergartens. It is also a testimony of NWS Holdings’ commitment as a good corporate citizen dedicated to investing in the future of the community.
The biennial China Golden Awards for Excellence in Public Relations, organized by China International Public Relations Association, is the most prestigious and respected public relations award in China. It recognizes outstanding projects by its objectives, planning and implementation as well as its long-term impact on society. This year, a total of 146 entries were received from across the nation, including Hong Kong and Taiwan regions.
It has been the second award won by NWS Holdings in this competition. Last time, NWS Holdings won the Silver Award of Community Relations for its community campaign during SARS.
