（14 January 2007, Hong Kong）The annual Fun Day of NWS Holdings Limited (“NWS Holdings” or the “Group”, Hong Kong stock code: 0659) was held on 14 January 2007, with an attendance of nearly 5,000 including staff and their family members
Dr Cheng Kar Shun, Henry, Chairman of the NWS Holdings and directors officiated at the ceremony, which symbolized that NWS Holdings would continue to excel. Dr Cheng said, “NWS Holdings has a 43,000-strong workforce in Hong Kong, Mainland China and Macau. The Fun Day is a good opportunity for us to boost team spirit. This year the event is even more meaningful as a charity sale booth is set up to raise fund for Hong Kong Young Women’s Christian Association (Y.W.C.A.), showing the Group’s commitment towards the community.”
The theme of this year was “Chinese Culture”. Programmes included game booths designed by member companies of NWS Holdings, Best Chinese Costume Competition, track games, cheering competition and lucky draw.
The Group values the importance of corporate social responsibility. This year, over a hundred of elderly people and children coming from low-income families were invited to join the Fun Day, sharing the fun of this event. The charity sale was well received. All the proceeds will go to two elderly centres of Hong Kong Y.W.C.A. for their renovation.
Besides, Ban’s Gig Drum was invited to be the performing guest of the Fun Day, bringing musical performance to the audience, the performance highlighted the Fun Day. This is the sixth consecutive year for NWS Holdings to hold the Fun Day, with the objectives to foster communication and boost team spirit.
