NWS Holdings is honoured the Outstanding Partnership Project Award by HKCSS
(21 February 2008, Hong Kong) NWS Holdings Limited (“NWS Holdings” or the “Group”, Hong Kong stock code: 0659) receives the Outstanding Partnership Project Award granted by The Hong Kong Council of Social Service (“HKCSS”) at the Caring Company Recognition Ceremony on 21 February 2008.

Jointly organized by NWS Holdings and The Hans Andersen Club, “Life Rejuvenation Scheme 2006 - Fairy Kiddo”, comprised a series of activities like companion reading, creative writing and drama performance for the underprivileged children in Wong Tai Sin. In addition, Kiddo Fairy Tale, compiling the Fairy Kiddos’ creative stories and drawings was published and the Fairy Kiddos performed the drama Fairy Villa at New World Centre as a finale. The project successfully fostered reading habit, honed creativity, enhanced language ability and boosted self-confidence of the beneficiary children, which earned recognition from HKCSS.

Mr Tsang Yam Pui, NWS Holdings’ Executive Director and Chairman of the Corporate Social Responsibility Committee of the Group said, “NWS Holdings is honoured to receive the Outstanding Partnership Project Award granted by HKCSS. We are delighted to have Hans Andersen Club as our partner for Life Rejuvenation Scheme 2006, in which our corporate volunteer team NWS Volunteer Alliance had demonstrated their caring spirit and creativity through guiding the Fairy Kiddos in story writing, publication and drama performance. I am also proud of the active participation of volunteers and the Fairy Kiddos throughout the whole programme. I hope our invaluable partnership could carry on and continually remunerate the society.”

In the same occasion, NWS Holdings receives the Caring Company logo 2007/2008 from HKCSS for the sixth consecutive year as well as the 5 Years Plus Logo Award, in recognition of the Group’s good corporate citizenship.

Fairy Kiddo ─ Life Rejuvenation Scheme 2006
Since 2003, NWS Volunteer Alliance, the corporate volunteer team of NWS Holdings, has partnered with non-profit organizations to organize the Life Rejuvenation Scheme on a yearly basis. In 2006, NWS Volunteer Alliance collaborated with Storyland of Hans Andersen Club for a one-year programme, Fairy Kiddo for 30 primary school children from Wong Tai Sin District’s low-income families. Guided by some 20 volunteers of the NWS Volunteer Alliance, the Fairy Kiddos were able to learn the basics of drama and story writing so as to enhance their interest towards reading, writing and strengthen their communication skill. Kiddo Fairy Tale, a compilation of the Fairy Kiddos’ creative stories was published and the Fairy Kiddos performed the drama Fairy Villa at New World Centre. Fairy Kiddos also visited the member companies of NWS Holdings, such as the depot of New World First Bus and the nursery in Hong Kong Island Landscape. Fairy Kiddos also participated in the NWS Holdings’ Fun Day.
