Dr Cheng Kar Shun, Henry, Chairman of NWS Holdings expressed that the Group was proud to become a diamond sponsor of the HKSAR’s participation in the Shanghai Expo. The Group’s value in CSR, environmental protection and sustainability fits perfectly with the theme of the Shanghai Expo “Better City, Betty Life”. Being one of the largest infrastructure investors in Mainland China and a major service provider in Hong Kong and Macau, the Group will strive to promote HKSAR’s participation in Shanghai Expo and showcase the attractions to citizens and tourists.
To express our care to the underprivileged, NWS Charities Foundation will sponsor a group of 24 secondary school students living at Tin Shui Wai to visit the Shanghai Expo in order to enhance their understanding towards the latest development of Mainland China. The Group will also arrange a site visit to one of its invested projects, Shanghai SCIP Water Treatment Plants for the students, hoping to widen their exposure. Tin Shui Wai Integrated Social Service Centre of the Hong Kong Young Women’s Christian Association (“YWCA”) will assist in selecting students and arranging the trip. Please contact Ms Isabel Wu at 2447 9228 for enquiries.
NWS Holdings renders its full support to the HKSAR’s participation in the Shanghai Expo. New World First Bus and Citybus will offer advertising spaces on bus body and bus shelter while New World First Ferry will provide light box advertising at the piers. Video broadcast on buses and ferries will also be offered. It aims to raise public awareness of and interest in the Shanghai Expo and demonstrate the close tie of Hong Kong with Mainland China and the rest of the world.
The Shanghai Expo, held from May to October 2010, will provide a platform for participating countries and organizations to share their experiences of urban development and to explore new approaches to eco-friendly lifestyles, working conditions and sustainable development. Hong Kong will take this excellent opportunity to promote the city as a modern, vibrant and interconnected metropolis with high quality city life built on creativity and innovation.
