(24 August 2015, Hong Kong) NWS Holdings Limited (“NWS Holdings” or the “Group”; Hong Kong stock code: 659) today announced the appointment of Mr Stanley Hui Hon Chung as an executive director and Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Group with effect from 1 September 2015. Mr Patrick Lam Wai Hon, an executive director of the Group, will be re-designated as a non-executive director with effect from 1 January 2016.
Commenting on the appointment, NWS Holdings Chief Executive Officer Mr Tsang Yam Pui said, “Stanley brings with him a wealth of management and leadership expertise from his 40 years of successful career. His track record in the aviation industry and deep knowledge of Mainland China and Asia Pacific markets will help drive the expansion of our existing infrastructure and services portfolio, in particular our aviation business.”
In February this year, NWS Holdings acquired 40% equity interest in Goshawk Aviation Limited, which is principally engaged in commercial aircraft leasing with a fleet of 44 aircraft to-date. In addition, the Group is the second largest shareholder of Beijing Capital International Airport Co., Ltd. following its share acquisition in December 2013.
Mr Hui, aged 64, began his aviation career in 1975 and held a range of management positions at Cathay Pacific Airways Limited. In 1997, he joined Hong Kong Dragon Airlines Limited as its Chief Executive Officer. Mr Hui served as the Chief Executive Officer of Hong Kong Airport Authority between 2007 and 2014. He is an independent non-executive director of Air China Limited.
Mr Patrick Lam, an executive director of the Group since 2003, will step down from his current role in order to devote more time to his other commitments. He will continue to serve the Group as a non-executive director. The re-designation will be effective 1 January 2016.
Mr Tsang thanked Mr Lam for his dedicated service and strong contribution to the Group. “Patrick is a founding member of the Group and has spearheaded successive growth in our infrastructure and services businesses as well as strengthening our corporate citizenship through his vast experience in commercial and professional expertise. We thank him for his contributions over the past 12 years and look forward to receiving the benefit of his advice and experience as a non-executive director,” he said.

Mr Hui, aged 64, joined Cathay Pacific Airways Limited (“Cathay Pacific”) in 1975 as a management trainee and had held a range of management positions in Hong Kong and overseas. He was seconded to work in Beijing as the Chief Representative of John Swire & Sons (China) Limited in 1992 and later returned to Hong Kong in 1994 to assume the position of Chief Operating Officer of AHK Air Hong Kong Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cathay Pacific. In 1997, Mr. Hui joined Hong Kong Dragon Airlines Limited as its Chief Executive Officer. During the period from February 2007 to July 2014, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of Hong Kong Airport Authority. Mr Hui is an independent non-executive director of Air China Limited whose shares are listed in Hong Kong, London and Shanghai.
Mr Hui has also served in a number of advisory committees both in Hong Kong and Mainland China, which included membership on the Greater Pearl River Delta Business Council, the Commission on Strategic Development of the HKSAR Government, Aviation Advisory Board, Aviation Development Advisory Committee, Vocational Training Council, the Hong Kong Logistics Development Council and the Hong Kong Tourism Board.
Mr Hui was a member of the 4th and 5th Shenzhen Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. He is currently a member of the National Committee of the Twelfth Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. Mr Hui is also a member of the General Committee of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce. In July 2006, Mr Hui was appointed as a Justice of the Peace by the Chief Executive of the HKSAR. Mr Hui holds a Bachelor Degree of Science from The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
