NWS Holdings wins six gold and one silver honours in Web Accessibility Recognition Scheme

(19 April 2016, Hong Kong) NWS Holdings Limited (“NWS Holdings” or the “Group”; Hong Kong stock code: 659) and its member companies, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (Management) Limited (“HML”), New World First Ferry Services Limited (“NWFF”), New World First Bus Services Limited and Citybus Limited (“NWFB and Citybus”), garnered six Gold Awards and a Silver Award at the fourth Web Accessibility Recognition Scheme today, recognizing the Group’s concerted effort to provide equal access to information and services through carefully designed websites and mobile apps.


The websites of NWS Holdings Charities Foundation www.nwsfoundation.com.hk, NWS Hong Kong Geo Wonders Hike geo.nws.com.hk, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre www.hkcec.com and NWFF www.nwff.com.hk won Gold Awards in the website category, a first for the HKCEC, and the Charities Foundation took home the Triple Gold Award for its third year winning in a row. NWS Holdings also received a Silver Award for its dedicated Sustainability website sr.nws.com.hk, which reflects the Group’s commitment to transparency and barrier-free communication with stakeholders. In addition, the mobile apps developed by NWFF, NWFB and Citybus, which provide practical content and services with enhanced barrier-free features, won two Gold Awards.

The Web Accessibility Recognition Scheme, jointly run by the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (“OGCIO”) and the Equal Opportunities Commission since 2013, promotes accessible digital design to improve access to information for people who might otherwise have difficulties.
