NWS Holdings provides life-planning skills for youth via cross-sector collaboration

(5 November 2017, Hong Kong) More than 200 students and young people from Tsuen Wan and Kwai Tsing districts joined in a career simulation event “Workplace Challenge” on 4 November organised by NWS Holdings Limited (“NWS Holdings” or the “Group”; Hong Kong stock code: 659). The event, part of the NWS Career Navigator For Youth 2017-18 programme, linked young people and corporate volunteers and offered them a taste of work across 13 industries, spanning construction, healthcare services, retail, public transport, catering and other business sectors.

NWS Career Navigator For Youth is organised by NWS Holdings in collaboration with the Hong Kong Young Women’s Christian Association, Po Leung Kuk and the Hong Kong Playground Association, while the Hong Kong Council of Social Service serves as a consultant and is commissioned to conduct a comprehensive social impact assessment of the programme. Leveraging on the Group’s resources and network, with the support from other corporate partners, the programme aims to provide life-planning skills and workplace experiences for young people via cross-sector collaboration. Since the scheme’s launch last year, over 40 activities have been held, including career planning workshops, corporate visits and career talks, with nearly 2,000 young people and teachers participating.
