14.12.2022

(14 December 2022—Hong Kong) NWS Holdings Limited (“NWS” or “the Group”, Hong Kong stock code: 659) is pleased to announce that it won four awards at the city-wide Hong Kong Volunteer AwardPresentation Ceremony, co-organised by the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau and the Agency for Volunteer Service, namely “Outstanding Corporate”, “Outstanding Volunteer/ Group”, “Outstanding Collaboration Project”, and “Top Ten Highest Volunteer Hours” awards. The awards bring full recognition to the Group’s continued advocacy of voluntary work, concern for youth development, as well as its dedication to Creating Shared Value (CSV) for society.

NWS has long been committed to giving back to society. Since its establishment 21 years ago, NWS Volunteer Alliance, the Group’s volunteer team, has accumulated more than 227,000 hours of service, benefited around 120,000 people, and collaborated with over 100 organisations, achieving remarkable milestones along the way. NWS Volunteer Alliance has become more agile and adaptive to the new normal during the pandemic. Adjusting its service form and content in a timely manner, the team was able to provide the most suitable services and support for the people in need.

Youth empowerment also marks an important part of NWS volunteer service. Leveraging its diversified business, NWS partnered with Po Leung Kuk and YWCA in 2021 and launched EXP Journey, the flagship CSV project that engaged more than 460 F.4-F.5 students across 12 secondary schools. The participating students took part in two 18-month workplace “Exploration, Experience, and Experiment” journeys. This project was awarded the “Outstanding Collaboration Project” in recognition of the work of NWS and its partners.

Eric Ma, Chief Executive Officer of NWS, said, “NWS is committed to promoting and creating sharedvalue. In order to attain business sustainability, the Group strives to grow our business and answer the needs of the community and stakeholders at the same time. We are proud of the Hong Kong Volunteer Awards honours we have won this year and, looking ahead, we will continue to work closely with the community and build a better society together.”

Launched and co-organised by the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau and the Agency for Volunteer Service in 2022, the city-wide Hong Kong Volunteer Award is dedicated to recognising the contributions and achievements of outstanding volunteers, corporations, organisations from different sectors, and cross-sectoral partnership projects.
